Traveling Mercies...

One of the things that we do here at the cottage every night, is to thank our Heavenly Father for traveling mercies. DH travels in the course of his work day. Some days he drives as much as 350 miles in one day... and doing his job along the way!

He called me just after 4:30 yesterday while I was at the flower shop. He told me that he just drove past a huge accident scene at the toll plaza at the Northeast extension of the PA Turnpike. He said it was a huge mess and was wondering how or if anyone survived the impact to the toll booths that were struck.

I soon left the flower shop... so I could turn on the news... and it was the lead story in our area. DH was just headed south and I knew that he would not be home anytime soon, at least not in the time we had hoped for. He had to drive down to his supervisors home and leave him his paperwork and time sheet for this week. It's a huge inconvenience to have to do this... and it also meant we were not going to church last night.

Once DH got home... we had a simple dinner... a cheese pizza and salad. He had just settled down after getting his shower when his phone went off... his supervisor was asking for his email.... about his inspection for the day and what he did, his work plan and any additional follow up work... at 8:00! DH was quite firm in telling him... he'd just gotten home, he was not going to do any computer work then and he would have to wait until tomorrow. His supervisor protested... and DH again said... No... it would be tomorrow, he had just gotten home and was eating dinner and going to spend time with his family.

Today... I plan on going to the flower shop to see the girls. DH and I plan on dyeing a few eggs... (His idea and request!) And I need to prep for dinner tomorrow and get my clothes ready for church. We are also back on a short eye regimen with Nolli... he got so excited yesterday with all the extra people at the flower shop... he bumped his other eye! Poor baby... he doesn't seem to be in any pain and it's just a precaution... I think he hit above his eye, but it sure scared me!

Thanks for reading... be blessed!
