FOR TODAY (April 26th, 2009)...
My Sweet Nolli-dog's toys are scattered all over the floor from his crazy-funny play session last night...
He managed to empty out his toy basket completely... and he played with everyone of his toys for a least a minute before he went on to the next one! Silly dog! This makes me laugh and touches my heart all at once.

We did the drawing this afternoon... the low tech way. With my brain fog... I couldn't think of doing the random integer thing... I had to ask DH how to spell that! (So not like me!)

Thanks for reading... be blessed!

hours on the phone yesterday and I am now scheduled for my pre-scan appointment on May 5th...(that's when they will give me that special cocktail of "8" RAI-123 pills...) and then I will have the actual scan on the 6th! Let's all keep our fingers crossed that nothing is cooking inside me... If they find anything, I will have to do RAI-131. That would mean that DH and the dog would both have to move out for a week as I would have to be isolated for 7 days.
I went shopping yesterday... got what felt like a ton of groceries, but I know that I will more than likely have to go and get more produce as I need it. I am now on the low-iodine diet, meaning that I cannot have anything that may have iodine in it... like eggs, dairy, cheese, any soy products, no bread, no potatoes and really nothing that is prepared. So... today, I will be baking bread, making white
beans for a homemade version of refried beans, pico do gallo, and homemade breakfast sausage...oh, and grilling chicken... lots and lots of chicken. I will also be making more salad dressings. The goal is to get as low iodine as I can get to make cocktail work in the body scan. I was so not prepared to do this... I didn't get to have pizza or a good salty sandwich from the deli! But, I can guarantee that as soon as I get the okay... I will have some of that yummy salty goodness from somewhere! (I can have table salt... just not iodized or sea salt)
kosher margarine. I asked the dairy clerk, because they do have a kosher case, he asked me to wait for a moment... and he brought back a lady from another department. She was explaining "kosher packaging" to me and I asked about "Mother's"... she looked at me with a surprised look and said, "How Do YOU know about Mother's???" I told her that was what is accepted on this diet and I used it the first time I did it... and a dear friend and coworker had brought it to me. The lady clerk told me she keeps a kosher home and that her store didn't carry what I wanted but that another retailer across the river did! I knew just where she was talking about... and went the extra 10 miles across the river to go there. That store had the most wonderful kosher section and I found exactly what I needed there!
A sweet coffe mug with a matching coaster... perfect to keep near your writing area!
A bag of Java Gourmet coffee.... Creme Brulee` flavor.... Yummm! Sorry for the grainy pic~

It's been a busy morning here at the cottage... my neighbor called. They are leaving for a few days to go to a B & B in Rhode Island with friends over from England. She wanted me to have a way to get in to her house if need be... and she forgot to give me a key. So... garage door opener it is! I hope to Not Have to Use it... but nice to know I can help, if needed.

Today... is my big day... I go see my new endocrinologist. I printed off my medical history from WebMD... it's so much easier for me to have it in print than having to sit there and remember while filing out new forms... and it can become part of my medical record for the doctor. I also assigned myself a lifetime ID so that I won't lose any of it when insurance changes are made. I wished I would have had that a few years ago! I wanted DH to go with me... but he needs to be at work right now.
Still making lists for our outdoor project and for things we need around the house. Still trying to fight the urge to buy plants... it's still just a little too early for that. But soon... very soon! (Back home in Washington and down in Maryland... planting is going on... oh, it kills me to wait!) I have so many projects I want to start... but this weekend... look out stores... I've got some shopping to do!
FOR TODAY (April 20th, 2009)...
I am remembering Columbine... and how it changed the face of our nation and how we view issues with kids and guns in our schools. I was working in education at that time... with high risk students. We also lost one of our girls to gun violence when she went to Seattle to visit her friends and was shot during a gang related shooting as someone innocent in the car. So sad and tragic. My friend Marla, had also just moved not far from Littleton... and I felt fear and anguish for her and her family. It could have happened back home... I knew boys that played with guns and had fantasies of blowing things up... funny, but they are now Marines... and do that for real! Columbine was the first real-in-your-face live on-tv tragedy where you couldn't believe what was really happening, and it made you want to hug your kids a little harder and closer each night.
(We acquired one through my beloved Craigslist!) It involved a trip to Lowe's for new water valves... lots of cleaning of both the installation site and the inside of the washer as well... (It came out of a rental unit and the previous owner did not understand how the lint filters worked... eewww!) And when all was said and done... it has the beginnings of a nice little laundry area... and we did 2 loads of laundry! Not exciting for most folks... but we haven't had our own laundry area for almost a year.
clothes folded and out to the car before they came back. We were outta there as quickly as possible. We are so happy that we won't have to be going back on a regular basis except to do the big stuff like comforters! It is such a wonderment to me that DH loves to go with me and help me. He won't let me carry anything too heavy, and he does not like for me to be there alone if it can be helped. The last time... he went by himself to do a couple of loads so I wouldn't get too overloaded. He knows that my energy level is iffy at best! We do live a simple life... and I don't want it any other way!
This next week has TWO events coming up... One for me and one for YOU!!!
on my flower beds. Soon... it will mean that I will be going to all the nurseries around here, buying up plants
to go in my flower beds!
Since Urban Dictionary is written entirely by teenagers, pot heads, and people with generally too much time on their hands, you'll probably need to wade through some questionable definitions and choose the one you're okay with the entire blog-o-sphere reading.1. Your Name? Suzanne
Suzanne is the #153 most common female first name.
Out of many more.
It is an original, and unique first name.
Mean graceful lily in Hebrew.
Come from Susanna a name in Hebrew.
a French, German, and Hebrew.
A very unique,special, different.
Hard to find, hard to keep.
picky girl
"Wow, Suzanne is really differest, but she's awesome!"
3. What should you be doing? Shopping
The act of going out and buying stuff.buying a whole lot of stuff that you don't really need
i went shopping today!
Going to a large chain store (Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Target, etc...) and filling a cart with as much crap as possible, only to abandon it somewhere in the store.
Hey dude! I went shopping at Wal-Mart today. Somebodys gonna be doin their job today.
Well... I do need to go buy some food, and I don't do the last one when I go to those stores!
4. Favorite Color: Sage
A word originating from the popular Japanese forum website 2chan. Sage (pronounced "sah-geh") - from the Japanese word "sageru", refers to replying to a post using the word "sage" in the email field in order to increase the number of replies without age-ing (or bumping) the post. This can be used as a courtesy, allowing one to quietly add comments that may not be interesting enough to warrant pushing the thread to the top. It can also be used as a way to show displeasure with the post being replied to.Umm... okay.
5. Birthplace: Ventura
The only decent city in Ventura County, geared mostly towards the working class and beach bums alike. Ventura is packed with all the retail stores you could need and still has a functioning main street, a rarity in America these days. Ventura does not have a walmart (thank god) but does have a target, kmart, big lots, and pretty much any other superstore that isn't wal mart; including a mall, 3 theaters, and about 20 smoke shops.~ yeah... that's what I've heard!
7. Last person texted: Joyce
A verb, meaning to lead someone on and then crush his or her heart like a heartless, souless, biatch that does pineapples and your sister.8. One of your nicknames: Babe
1.endearing term.~ I like this one... and it fits!
9. What are you doing this weekend: Yard Salesthe act of selling shit you dont want to people who dont need it
hey my next door neighbor is having a yard sale... wanna go waste three bucks?
~I would be the last one... wasting $3 bucks.
n. Delicious strips of juicy, pork heaven. Served often at breakfast with eggs, but perfectly good served alone and at any time of day.
Joe: "There are only two kinds of people in this world, those who love bacon..." John: "...and those who love bacon but won't admit it."
~Both definitions fit my life... but I adore the second one! We all love bacon in this house!
Well, that was pretty good... I didn't get anything obscene or too nasty! (Whew!)
Thanks for reading... be blessed!
FOR TODAY (April 13th, 2009)...Here's a picture thought I am sharing:
